The family took the bus from Moussane to Arles, to avoid the issues of town traffic and parking. Our main aim was to visit a Van Gogh exhibition. The gallery had managed to gather 31 paintings, perhaps a diminutive number when the exhibition promo said that Vincent had spent 444 days in Provence, during which he produced more than 300 paintings and 200 drawings.

The old woman is held at Amsterdam, the sunset at Otterloo, thus illustrating the achievement of bringing back to Arles.
We also walked around the amphitheatre galleries.

It is hard to imagine that in medieval times the amphitheatre became a town in itself

First impression of a town house home?
Alas, the bus that we hoped would convey us home was a summer deal, and this is officially autumn, so we had to wait two hours for the last regular bus back to Maussane. We were able to fill some of the time chatting to an English archaeologist with a project near Maussane for some medieval exploration. He was going to camp in the triangular tent he carried.
